On Easter Tuesday last year we were delighted to come back into the practice follwoing the Easter break to receive this email from one of Ben's patients:
Re: Dr. Ben Attenborough and Jem Dental Care
"It is not often that I take the time, nor have the inclination, to write to a regulatory body and give feedback on the experiences that I have had as a patient but following my recent visits to see the above dentist and the practice, I feel that I would like to comment on the exemplary treatment I have received at Jem Dental Care.
I became a patient of the practice last summer after several years of not visiting the dentist due to being incredibly nervous. From the very beginning when I made the appointment, right through to seeing the dentist and having a small amount of treatment, the care and sensitivity with which I was handled as a patient by all members of staff was simply outstanding. Dr. Attenborough, his nurse Afsana and the oral health educators Lisa and Leanne deserve special recognition for their professionalism and attention throughout my visits to the practice, and for nothing being too much trouble for them in order to make me feel comfortable.
I do hope you feel able to pass these comments onto the relevant department and I thank you for taking the time to read this letter."

Diary of a wisdom tooth extraction
Today is officially the first day of spring, and this year spring has been a long time coming. But the sun shone today, and I dug out a strip of lawn for our new potato bed. The reason for writing this is that tomorrow, Monday, I shall be having a bottom wisdom tooth out under general anaesthetic. I have never been put to sleep before, so only know second-hand what to expect.

Another Award!
Our Stop Smoking Team were presented with the "Celebrating Excellence in Tobacco Control Award" by the Lord Mayor of Leeds. This is to commend the excellent work our team has achieved in Smoking Cessation.

Oral Health Educators
JEM Dental Care's Oral Health Service has proved to be a fabulous success with fantastic benefits for patients. Delivered by our in house team it gives advice on all aspects of oral health, smoking cessation, tooth brushing techniques and preventative care. The feedback from patients has been excellent with many reporting significant improvements in their oral health.
